Who We Are
Jones Creek Baptist Church, lovingly called “The Creek,” is a family oriented church. We love children and enjoy watching them learn about Jesus and His Word. We are a congregation who is seeking to know the will of God for our lives. We believe that each individual is equipped by God to serve the body of Christ. We believe when each person discovers what their gift is that they should strive to be involved in God’s working here on this earth, encouraging them to us their gifts and talents to serve others. At Jones Creek we are striving to be “a church on the move for Jesus Christ.” We hope you will come and worship with us soon at “The Creek.”
To worship God; be united in love with one another through Christian fellowship; support the work of missions by teaching and equipping believers for ministry to others in Christ’s name; and, in so doing, win the lost to Christ as we spread the gospel to our community, nation and world.
The Bible is God’s word to all humanity. It was written by human authors under the divine guidance of the Holy Spirit. It is true from cover to cover and authoritative for Christian living.
Man is made in the image of God. He is the supreme object of God’s Creation. Man, however, disobeyed God and is sinful and in need of redemption from God. All men and women are sinners and in need of a Savior.
God eternally exists in three persons; The Father, The Son and The Holy Spirit (the Trinity). Jesus Christ is the Son of God. He was born of a virgin. He lived a sinless human life and was crucified as a sacrifice for the sins of man. He rose from the dead (resurrection) on the third day and overcame death. He reigns eternally as the King of Kings and the Lord of Lords. The Holy Spirit is present to convict men of their sins, to teach them the truth of Jesus Christ and to provide power for living by faith, and understanding truth. He is a counselor that gives guidance and direction for humanity. The Holy Spirit is present in a person’s life immediately after salvation.
Men and Women are saved by grace through faith. Salvation is a work of God through the sacrifice of Jesus Christ and is a gift from God. Man cannot do anything to save himself. Receiving Christ as Savior and Lord, men and women must repent of their sins, believe in Jesus Christ and confess their relationship with Him.
Baptism is an outward expression of an inward salvation. It is an act of obedience to God, following Christ’s example. It is a picture of the death burial and resurrection of our Lord. We baptize by immersion. Baptism is an outward profession of our faith in Christ.
